Anonymous asked you: Will you be voting for Barack Obama this time around?
Yeah. I met the dude at the Correspondents Dinner last year. I wrote with Seth Meyers. Pretty amazing night actually. I’ll definitely vote for him, but I ain’t giving him money again.
Anonymous asked you: I have heard Chappelle say that the script that the 2 of you wrote for Half Baked was hilarious, but the movie that was made was not at all indicative of that. What from the script did not make it to the screen? Do you own the rights to the original script? I would be interested in reading it.
Nothing in particular. There was just a feeling to the script that didn’t translate. It goes back to my answer about doing stand-up vs. directing/writing. Too many moving parts that you can’t control in movies and TV.
clarkandjared asked you: Do you have any particularly disastrous performances that have stuck in your mind? Do you believe that bombing is a sort-of “rite of passage” that every aspiring stand-up has to go through?
I bombed the other night. You never stop bombing. You just hopefully bomb with way less frequency. And also, the more you do it, the higher the bar is for bombing. What I consider bombing now would have been a decent set five years ago.
random-comedy asked you: Do you think there is a possibility that Chappelle goes back to television.
It’s possible, but I seriously doubt it.
